This Easter the Coca Cola London Eye has teamed up with the West End’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to create an interactive adventure for children.
I was invited to preview this chocolate themed event with my two sons aged 5 and 8 and as huge Willy Wonka fans we were all very excited. After a warm welcome the children received a goody bag which included an all-important golden ticket, chocolate treat and activity pack. The children were particularly excited to have a famous golden ticket! We were then escorted on to one of the Eye’s capsules by Professor Pop, head of inventions and creations at Willy Wonka’s factory.
He introduced himself to the children by telling them that he had lost his creativity and needed their help to get it back in order to create the next big sweet invention. The children were captivated by his energy and humour and continued to be for the entire ride which lasts 30 minutes.
Throughout the journey Professor Pop led the children to find 6 clues around London that enabled them to cast a spell to create a new sweet invention.
His energy was faultless and the children were engaged throughout, laughing and having fun – moving around the capsule, dancing and singing! Whilst the children were entertained it gave a great opportunity for parents to relax a little and enjoy the view which – with 360 degree views of up to 40km of the capital – really is stunning!
The children were also shown the sites – as Professor Pop pointed out the Capital’s landmarks as well as telling them simple but memorable facts about them. I valued this a lot and thought the information he gave the children was really tailored to them.
Timing was impeccable as Professor Pop concluded the adventure just as the ride came to an end. After finding all of the necessary clues he cast a spell and made a new magical sweet invention appear. The children were really excited!
As well as the actors on board, the area around the London Eye has been decorated with Willy Wonka themed delights which also adds to the overall magical experience.
I would highly recommend the View of Pure Imagination Experience for children this Easter. Guaranteed energy and excitement and a magical, interactive experience!
