Every evening after bath time is my time to sit and read to my three pre-school boys in the hope that it calms them down ready for bed. My boys are always looking out for new books and with ‘What Is Part This, Part That?’ with its bright colourful cover they instantly recognised it was a new book and we had to read it straight away.

From the moment we opened the book we found ourselves chatting about everything on each page rather than just reading through the story as a whole. The concept behind this book is to introduce the possibility that everything can be a little bit of more than one thing. For example “a bee is part buzz and part sting”. The book uses everyday things that are familiar to pre-school children to explain that sometimes things can look different to people but it shows that both can be correct. Each page is colourful and there are even some pull-out sections where the author will ask the reader a question with the answer hidden underneath.

This book is impressed me as it made a lovely change to the normal bedtime story and kept my boys engaged with its excellent illustrations. A great informative book that I believe would be well received by children between the ages of 3 and 5. The quality if the book is outstanding as the book comes with a glossy front cover, a glossy protective removable front cover sleeve and it is apparent that the pages are made from good quality paper. Great value for money for a book of this quality.

Overall my boys rate this book 5 out of 5 and even though we have read the book about a dozen times already they still want me to read it again.
