Yummy Dough Review

Reviewed by Louise Totton

The small plastic tub had a resealable lid and contained 4 sachets of yummy dough powder along with tools for mixing and modelling. The product had to be mixed with a precise amount of water to make the dough (this is certainly something an adult needs to do, my 4 year old would’ve really struggled to mix and measure herself). It mixed easily enough into a malleable dough that my daughter could model and shape. You can also mix the dough together to make other colours, so red and blue make purple. The finished product can then be baked into cookies, and these cookies can be eaten. The dough can also be eaten in its ‘raw’

I did like to product – it did what I expected it to do for the most part. My daughter really enjoyed modelling with it, although it wasn’t as easy to use as play dough. My younger daughter was also able to join in too, as the product is designed to be eaten, I didn’t have to worry about her putting it in her mouth whereas with playdough this is always a concern.

I would say though that although the product is edible, it certainly isn’t yummy. My eldest wouldn’t eat more than a nibble of the baked biscuit. And it is obviously single use only, which does make it more expensive than other modelling clays. The kids enjoyed it, although no more than normal playdough and it was more trouble set up for them. It did take away the worry of the youngest putting it in her mouth though, so well worth it from that perspective.
