We turned up at the Crooked Glen restaurant in Dunfermline at 6pm on a Friday evening, there is plenty of parking available and I noticed tables outside which would be great in the summer. We were shown to our table straight away. There were 3 adults and 2 3 year olds in our party and I was very pleased to see we had been given a table right beside the kids play area, which would keep our little ones entertained. The man who showed us to our table was very friendly and explained how to order and the buffet night options they have, but we decided to order from the regular menu.
The kids went to play in the soft play area which is open until 8pm. It was a nice size with friendly staff who overseen the area. It also wasn’t too busy considering it was a Friday evening.
We ordered our food and drinks, which you do yourself at the bar. There is also a help yourself soft drinks machine which you can keep refilling. This is a great idea and meant we didn’t have to wait on drinks.
We didn’t have to wait long on our food at all and it was all hot. We ordered a chicken tikka curry, chicken pie, macaroni cheese and 2 poppin chicken kid’s meals. Everyone enjoyed their food, only 1 thing to mention was the macaroni cheese seemed to really lack the cheese and was more creamy, but still OK. The kids loved their food.
Our plates were cleared quickly and we then ordered dessert. Strawberry sundaes, kids ice cream and a treacle pudding. All delicious!
This restaurant has a nice family feel to it and is very kid friendly. We managed to enjoy a lovely meal with our 3 year olds. But there is also a quieter area away from the soft play which would be more suited for those without kids, and less noisy.
I will definitely use this restaurant again with my family and would highly recommend it. Every member of staff was helpful and friendly and the food is nice and not too expensive. The buffet nights look great, and also good value for money.
