Ella’s Kitchen Baby Food and Snacks Review

Reviewed by Julie Huntkin

First of all the Ella’s Kitchen 100% organic snacks for toddlers were delivered the next day from me providing my details, so a super speedy delivery. We received a range of organic baby food, finger food, snacks and smoothie.

The packaging was really eye-catching. It all came in a lovely printed box with shredded bright green tissue paper and the products were all laid out lovely with a little handwritten note. The packaging is of really good quality. The only thing I would say is that the meal food pouches are rip-open so if only using half there is no way to seal it back up.

The products themselves are in really brightly coloured packaging with easy to read labels so you know what ages and stages the items are for. The information on the back of the products is really clear as to what goes in the food and the little notes about Ella’s Dad etc… is really personable and gives the products a homemade feel.

My son is nearly 9 months old and has been on solid food since 6 months. Although I blend everything to a puree I thought I’d try him with the stage 10 months pouches and he was fine with the lumps. He absolutely loved the cottage pie. The Caribbean chicken was a bit too spicy for him and he’s not a fan of tomato-based foods so he wasn’t keen on the tomato pasta one. There are some great flavours in the baby food range including roast lamb, curry, pasta and stew. These retail for £1.89 for a 190g pouch.

The Strawberry & Apple oaty fingers he loved. They were for 12 months plus so I had to break them up really small but to say they’re full of goodness they are quite tasty! These come in packs of 5 25g bars and retail for £2.29

He also liked the crunchy sticks, rings and savoury biscuits. They were good fingers foods and although he is too young for them he managed to eat them safely. These range from 59p to £2.29.

By far Toby’s favourite was “The Orange One”. A Smoothie Fruit pouch. He gulped it down in seconds without me heating it, it could’ve done with being slightly bigger as he has a big appetite and loves his fruit. These come in a range of flavours/colours and retail for 79p each for a 90g pouch or £3.25 for a 5 multipack and are suitable for 1 year onwards.

Overall I was very pleased with the products. All the products are clearly labelled for age and if gluten free, dairy free, nut free, suitable for vegetarians etc… and are 100% organic. I would recommend them to anyone and give them 4/5. The reason I didn’t give them 5/5 is because I feel they are slightly overpriced.

Rating: 4/5
