I was very lucky to be given the chance to review and support the above Summer Musical Project which was a community performance at the Grove Theatre, Dunstable on Saturday. What a pleasure and sure delight to witness so many children demonstrating their talent ranging from 7 to 14 years old and every single one looked so proud and confident to be participating and perform on stage to present the story of Insectzzz, there were no signs of any nerves whatsoever!  Everyone performed very well with confidence which included acting, singing and dancing. The costumes and stage scenes were very good for a community production.

The story was beautifully illustrated providing a comic tale that traces the story of a tramp who wanders into a forest and meets butterflies, ants and snails and discovers comparisons to the social and political difficulties that are experienced by humans. It was very obvious that the cast had been working extremely hard with their rehearsals all week to produce this wonderful show. All of the cast had previously auditioned for their roles and delivered a fantastic performance! A very big well done to the staff that produced such a wonderful show.

Act 1 was the Butterflies and this was pleasure to watch every single performer demonstrated and acted this scene so well which included Felix, Victor, Iris, Clytie and Otto, well done to all of you.

Act 2 was Creepers and Crawlers again such a lovely act with great performances from Chryalis, Tramp and Mr Beetle again well done to all of you.

Act 3 the Ants – my favourite scene with the ants marching back and forth and it was clever how they turned their leaves into guns, well done again to each Ant that took part!

Followed by Epilogue such a lovely finish to the story.

I would definitely recommend sending your children to Drama School at Grove Theatre, such a wonderful experience for them to experience the stage, no hesitation. The course was £100 for 6 days rehearsals, what a great opportunity to give any budding actor/actress to show their talent!

Grove Theatre offer the following: Weekly Drama classes for people aged 7 -19 also Grove Academy a part-time performing arts school for people 4-18.
