Review by Nadene O’Loan
When I received the Hammamas Towel my first impressions were that it was a lovely colour and a thick cotton material and would make a beautiful sarong or a picnic mat. I was also very impressed by the size of it. It was compact in its neat sturdy plastic zip-up pouch.
I was very dubious, however, on the claim that it was an absorbent towel. How could it be? It was pure cotton and not fluffy! I decided to use it after my shower to prove that it was not as absorbent as my favourite towels. Sadly, I failed in this mission. I was highly impressed by the absorbency of the Hammama which was actually much more absorbent that my usual towels and dried me much quicker. I was also impressed by the fact that the Hammama dried very quickly ready to be packed away in its little pouch again.
All in all I think that the Hammamas is a high quality product that exceeded my expectations. I love the fact that it is made in rural Turkey by traditional weavers using traditional methods and local good quality Turkish cotton. I can see many uses for it in my personal lifestyle. I love to travel with my family but try to keep our luggage to a minimum due to high baggage costs on budget airlines. The Hammamas is a perfect holiday item as it is multi-functional. We could use it as a beach wrap, towel, blanket or picnic mat. I also love to take my family camping and we go to a family friendly music festival every year. Again the Hammamas would be perfect for this because of its many uses.
Not forgetting all this, the Hammamas also looks fab! It comes in lovely classic colours and I can’t wait to hang it in the downstairs cloakroom in my new house for visitors to admire!
At £22.00 I think that the Hammamas is a product that offers value for money and I will be recommending it to my friends. I was slightly disappointed to see that the kids version was priced at £22.00 also as I had expected it to be at a reduced price.
The Hammamas really is the clever cotton towel!
