We have a 2 year old dog, and as much as we love him, there are a few things that we could do without… rolling in fox poo and the smells that come out the not-so-nice-end of him in the evening.

If you’re a dog owner and have them with you on the sofa while you watch the evening’s telly, then you’ll know what I’m on about.

They yawn, they stretch, and then suddenly you look around and realise that the awful smell is from your beloved pet.

So when we (as in Monty the dog and I) were asked to try and to review Pooch & Mutt Digestion & Wind dry food, we jumped at the chance.

I loved the packaging. Brightly coloured with a cute little Mutt on the front.

It will certainly stand out on the shelves.

The other thing that will make it stand out from its competitors are the ingredients: all natural and healthy. No nasties here!

Parsley helps to aid digestion and the fact it’s made from salmon means it’s easier to digest that meat. It also includes probiotics and probiotics and is totally grain free. All of which means your dog can digest it easily and the pro and prebiotics encourage the good bacteria which aids digestion.

We gave it to Monty for his dinner, at 6pm. By 6.30 it was still untouched.

I don’t think he was impressed that his food had suddenly been changed. It is usually recommended to change their dry food slowly.

We added some tuna and he wolfed it down.

I do think that he was less ‘productive’ that evening.

It would be interesting to see what a total change to it would do.

His current dry food bag runs out in a few weeks, and I’ll be keeping an eye out for Pooch & Mutt to try him on fully.

Now, if only someone could come up with something to stop him rolling in fox poo…
