Prisoners is a tense thriller about 2 young girls who go missing on Thanksgiving and a father’s determination to find them by taking matters into his own hands.

On the Thanksgiving holiday 6 year old Hannah and 7 year old Joy go missing from outside their homes. A strange Recreational Vehicle (RV) was spotted parked on the street and suspected of being the kidnappers vehicle. Once the RV is found the owner is arrested, Alex Jones who has the IQ of a 10 year old, but is later released as there is no evidence.

Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) has lost all faith in the police and Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) and decides the only way to get his daughter back is to do it himself. He kidnaps , locks up and tortures the suspect but is he really the abductor of these children? And how far will Dover go to protect his family and find the missing children.

Overall, I found this to be a very tense and enjoyable thriller. The story was good and Hugh Jackman was excellent as the worried father. A very well written, emotional drama about how far a desperate father will go to find his missing child.

Highly recommended and definitely worth seeing.
