The Complete Collection

This was a series of comedies written by and starring Michael Palin and Terry Jones. Any self-respecting fan of Monty Python should definitely have this in their DVD collection. Originally broadcast between 1976 and 1979 it stands very well up against the other Pythons comedy output, John Cleese's Fawlty Towers, which was also broadcast during this period.
Originally there was only one story, "Tomkinson's Schooldays", loosely based on Tom Brown's Schooldays, a satirical look at the education system at the turn of the century.
Eight more yarns followed and all are superbly written and played. My particular favourite "Golden Gordon" is a brilliantly comic look at how football matters to 1 man in a small community. When the local team is threatened with liquidation this man decides to try to get the glory team back together one last time to relive the good old days.
Other stories include "Escape From Stalag Luft 112B", "Whinfrey's Last Case" and "Roger of the Raj". All episodes were biting comically and had me laughing out loud. I recommend this collection to anyone who likes good comedy well written and superbly played. If you're a fan of Monty Python and have not got this collection get it now!
