Spring is just around the corner, everything is fresh, clean, new and revitalised. But it is not only the emergence of spring flowers and the sun finally popping its head out after a long winter, it is also the time of year when most people tend to do a really deep clean of their homes. Yes, it’s that time again: Spring Cleaning!

So now that the winter is disappearing and the sun is finally starting to shine, along with the buds of spring flowers opening it is time to open up that cleaning cupboard and get out the cleaning supplies.

Some people love a good Spring Clean, while others detest it, but the question will always remain the same: “Where do I start?”

Whilst we can’t tell you the best place to start, or the best practice for cleaning your home, we can share with you our reviews of some cleaning equipment and products – from the baffling array of detergents and stain removers to bulkier items like vacuum cleaners and steam mops.

So check out our Spring Cleaning reviews and get yourself organised. Before you know it, you’ll be ready to start cleaning away the winter blues (and dirt) and make your home new, fresh and ready for the year ahead.

And just to help you on your way, here are 3 useful Spring Cleaning tips:

Make a checklist – write down everything you think you needs to be cleaned. For example, dust and vacuum the ceilings, wipe down the skirting boards and windowsills, vacuum the curtains and poles, disinfect all door handles and light switches, replace batteries in smoke alarms and test, etc… This way you shouldn’t forget anything, and will have a really spotless home once you’ve finished.

Clean room-by-room – pick a room and give it a good deep clean – don’t move on to the next room until you have finished the current one. If you are tempted to jump from room to room, you will end up with things everywhere and  in more of a mess than you were before!

Declutter and organise – as you work through the house, use it as an opportunity to declutter your home. Throw away anything that is no good or unusable, and anything that still has value can be donated to a charity shop or listed on your favourite selling page or auction site. Not only can you clean, declutter and organise but you might make a few pounds for either yourself or your favourite charity along the way!
