Stage Experience: Little Shop of Horrors at Milton Keynes Theatre Review

9-11 August 2018

Milton Keynes Theatre and Vivo D’Arte provided an exciting opportunity for young people to come together with a professional team to create a show of the highest class.

The cast, aged 10 to 25 years old, only met managing director Dan Cowan and co-directors, Amy Dunstall and Georgee Burn one week ago! Now, they are currently performing the production of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken’s wicked smash hit musical, Little Shop of Horrors, on the main stage at Milton Keynes Theatre in a full-scale production backed by a live orchestra and familiar musical score, not to mention the fabulous costumes, hair and make-up.

The timid floral assistant, Seymour Krelborn (Alfie Glasser), happens to stumble across a plant he has never seen before and romantically names it “Audrey II” – after his co-worker he secretly admires. The foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivorous plant (Chris Gannon) promises Seymour the fame and fortune he’s been wishing for to escape skid row. As long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. As time goes by, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s more than he can handle and has to make a tough decision.

Absolute stunning vocals of Caitlyn Allen (Audrey) and Tia Antoine-Charles, Natasha Holland and Chenise Trantum (Crystal, Ronette and Chiffon) truly demonstrates some of the phenomenal talent found in this cast.

Little Shop of Horrors will be running until Saturday 11th August at Milton Keynes Theatre, don’t miss this one!
