After a very wet and windy start to half term, a trip to Parr Hall in Warrington was a very welcome excursion on Sunday afternoon. Myself, my husband and our two daughters were very excited to be watching The Chris and Pui Show.
As anyone with young children will know Chris Jarvis and Pui Fan Lee are the host of Cbeebies Show Me. The live show promised to contain all the fun of the tv show and it definitely delivered. There was lots of singing, dancing and hilarity throughout the show with quite a lot of jokes for the adults also thrown in. Both my daughters, aged 5 years old and 9 months old were mesmerized by the music and action on the stage. The whole show was very interactive, with the children being encouraged to join in singing, dancing and shouting! My 5 year old loved singing along to all the familiar nursery rhymes and seeing Chris or Pui dressed as the characters, with her particular favourite was Chris as Old King Cole.
At various points during the performance Chris and Pui were joined on stage by the Show Me Show Me toys, Tom, Momo, Stuffy, Miss Mouse and of course Teddington. We all really enjoyed Miss Mouse’s windmill song. And lots of laughter was had at Stuffys hilarious antics.
Often children’s shows are something we parents grin and bear for the sake of the children, not so with The Chris and Pui show. My husband and I enjoyed getting involved with the songs just as much as the children! We were both singing and dancing and were as disappointed as the children when the show ended.
Chris and Pui will not be touring next year so if you have a little one who loves them I would get your tickets booked for the remaining shows this half term before you miss your chance. The show is so much fun for all the family, everyone will come out smiling!
