On a wet and windy Monday evening we went along to Milton Keynes Theatre to review the infamous Richard O’Briens Rocky Horror Show. We stopped off at one of the many nearby pubs and quickly realised our attire wasn’t quite the same as everyone else’s! It was even clearer that an effort should have been made when we collected our tickets from the amazingly outfitted press guy! Clearly when going to see this show one should make an effort. Special mention to the guy in front of us… wow what an outfit… my other half would have appreciated that sort of effort!
Right from the off this is a fast-paced and lively show. It was a little daunting as a first timer as clearly lots of the audience had been many a time, their saucy add ons to the story making us all laugh out loud. Ben Adams and Joanne Clifton were fab as the central characters Brad and Janet. The story unravels after they get a flat tire, narrated by the wonderful Dom Joly. The audience were quick to engage and were up on their feet in no time at all. The outfits were amazing, I’d quite like to borrow one or two!
It’s most certainly not for the faint hearted with an entirely adult theme but made me laugh lots. It’s all singing all dancing show; the whole cast were simply fab. It’s a unique show where the audience are able to feel part of the experience. With toe tapping songs and of course the ultimate party song ‘Let’s do the Timewarp’ you couldn’t fail to not have an wonderful time. Grab your tickets now before this show parties out of town.
