The Body Shop Honey Bronze Oil Review

Honey Bronze Oil

I have become a little obsessed with this product in the space of just a week. As a pale skinned girl I was a little apprehensive about using it at first in fear of ending up with skin the colour of an oompa loompa. The word ‘shimmer’ also worried me a little because I thought I might end up looking like a glittery disco ball. An oompa loompa disco ball is not a good look. After the first application I quickly realised there was no need to fear.

You need to give the bottle a really good shake before application, to mix the oil with all of that shimmer. Although the oil can be used all over the body I just applied it onto my arms, because they are the only body part I dare show at the moment, after being covered up throughout all of winter.

The oil is a subtle and warm colour that, once rubbed in, gives skin a really nice healthy glow. The shimmer also gives off a nice sheen, without looking too sparkly. The tint of honey and texture of the oil are so light that there is no need to worry about patches and streaks, unless you really overdo it. I used around 8 drops on each arm and it was just right. Most other oil based beauty products can also leave your skin feeling clogged up but this product only leaves behind soft skin in its trail.

I did a bit or research to find out more about this wonderful product and found that it uses fair trade honey from Ethiopia and beeswax from Cameroon. Not only does this make you an ethical beauty queen but it means you smell of lovely honey.

The heavy glass bottle does make it tricky to carry round with you but once applied in the morning, or before a night out, there’s no need to reapply. You can leave the house feeling confident that you’re going to look sun kissed and smell gorgeous for the rest of the day.

I will be using this product all throughout the run up to summer and strongly recommend it to any other girls who want to achieve a light, summery glow. I’m so impressed by the results that I might bring my pins out of hibernation for the next application.
