Where to start when reviewing the Twinkl platinum membership? OK… My name is Natasha, I'm 33 years old and I am a Twinkl addict… there I've said it!!! Actually, I have a sneaky suspicion that I am not the only one!!

I am a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in an infant school and regularly teach a range of lessons. Therefore I'm always on the lookout for ideas and with Twinkl, it's all there on one handy website! When I say ALL, I literally mean anything you might need for your classroom or child care setting! I couldn't possibly mention everything so I urge you to have a good look on their website, www.twinkl.co.uk.  I'm currently spending hours happily downloading different resources!

I was lucky enough to be able to review the Platinum option on Twinkl which among other things, such as exclusive offers and online support, gives you unlimited access to over 104,000 resources! It costs just £39.95 for a one year subscription working out at just £3.33 a month!

You can use Twinkl without paying any subscription at all and can download thousands of resources, however I personally feel the access I have to the platinum resources has already become an essential part of my daily planning which I now wouldn't want to be without!

Twinkl caters for Early Years, KS1 and KS2 and the website is easy to navigate and find the specific topic and age range you need.

As I said, there is just too much to mention so I'll stick to the highlights!

I've paid for subscription for other resource sites before which have been good but have had limited downloads. With a site as good as Twinkl I think it's essential that it's unlimited! I particularly love the downloadable PowerPoint presentations which as far as I've come across seem to cover many of the topics and again are available for the different age ranges. I've already downloaded some of the numeracy ones I and plan on using them for the start of lessons, where I am going to be introducing 2d shapes to a Year 1 class. This has saved me time and is a great way of using ICT within the classroom. There's even a variety of power points available for teaching about Christmas which would be particularly great for an RE lesson.

There are thousands of resources covering each area of learning as well as seasonal ranges such as Chinese New Year, winter and of course Christmas. I have to admit I have downloaded and printed so many Christmas resources and have had a lot of fun doing it! I've already used a range of colouring sheets which were a treat for the children's 'golden time' at the end of a busy week rehearsing for concerts! What's even better is that the Christmas theme has been tied into other learning areas such as literacy and numeracy. For example, the children enjoyed filling in the missing numbers from a gingerbread number line which I set up as an independent activity. I also noticed a range of 'how to make' cards which give instructions on a range of Christmas activities and crafts. These are great for either giving ideas to use with your class or for perhaps slightly older children to follow as an independent activity and I'm excited about using these over the next two weeks.

Both the Literacy and Numeracy categories are extensive and are broken down into sub areas such as phonics (DFE letters and sounds), reading, writing and even story telling as well as many others for Literacy and counting, shapes, money and more for KS1 numeracy moving onto problem solving and data handling for KS2. Each of these areas offers PowerPoint, display resources, activities, writing opportunities (in literacy) as well as many many other things. Again, I urge you to take a look to really appreciate how much Platinum membership with Twinkl offers you and how much time it can save you!

Also I think it’s worth mentioning, that if you’re not a teacher, please still take a look at this wonderful site, there will be many resources that will help you to support your child with their learning at home.

It probably goes without saying that Platinum Twinkl membership gets a 5 out of 5 from me and I should think, also from the children I work with!

The Twinkl Platinum Membership is definitely worth the money.
